24 Weeks with #4!

I had my 24 week doctor's appointment last week and though it seemed crazy to already be at 24 weeks, it didn't hit me how far along I am until she said, "So, the glucose test is the next visit and then it's every two weeks after that!" I'm sorry, what!?

That just about did me in. 24 weeks is far along, but 16 weeks to go still sounds like a long time left. But having the glucose test? That makes it seem like it's almost the end! Time to register at the hospital? That makes it seem like it's almost the end! And having appointments every two weeks and then once a week after my next one? THAT definitely makes it seem like it's almost the end! How in the world did I get so far along?! Didn't I just announce this pregnancy to everyone like last week?

So I'm feeling pregnant. And as pregnant as I feel, I'm not super miserable. I was reading back about my other pregnancies, and while most have been the same, I'm thankful for lack of tailbone pain this time (none so far!!) and lack of carpal tunnel (none so far!) and lack of leg cramps (not many so far!).

The kids have felt her kick now which was by far the highlight of the past few weeks. They LOVE this and their excitement keeps me excited! I've been feeling her for a bit now, and it's just as special to me as it was with her older siblings. But when the bigs get to feel her it means so much more!

We still don't have a name. We like a few, but honestly haven't thought too too much about it. I guess that's what happens when you are on number four. People keep asking me how this pregnancy is going and it's going totally fine- but like I've said before I often forget I'm pregnant because we have SO much going on right now. She is a typical fourth kid and I can't wait to see how she is outside my tummy- because she is certainly super easy INSIDE! :)  (And if she's anything like my little sister then she will be just as easy on the outside- hope!!)

So we are just plugging along in the midst of all things life right now. I'm definitely getting pretty tired each day but feel like I'm doing a better job of taking life a little slower than normal. I know I need to take care of me so that I can take care of all of them. And it won't do me any good if I'm laid up in bed for the rest of this pregnancy, so if I can rest throughout the day or take some time to just sit each day it will be better for everyone in the long run.

Teeny Weenie at 4

I wanted to make sure I recorded CK's four year measurements from her well check.

The intake girl measured and weighed her and checked her eyesight and hearing and BP. Once we got everything down she left. And another nurse came in and remeasured CK's height. Same measurements. Then, when the doc came in he measured her AGAIN- and it was the same!

I asked what was up and he said, "Well, she went from being above average in height (80% for the most part) to now being right under average."

As usual, we talked about her diet and making sure she was getting enough calories. I wanted to pull out a picture of Anthony's mom and remind him that this was likely what she was going to look like when she was finished growing! She's 5'2" and tiny and strong and that pretty much nails ol' Charley Kate!

Anyway, she's healthy and her check up went well. She had two vaccinations and did great. She cried some but I'm pretty sure it was more of hurt feelings than actual pain. :)

Her measurements at FOUR:
Height: 39.5 in (46%)
Weight: 31 lbs, 8 oz (23%)
BMI: 14.33 (18%)
BP: 92/64
Pulse 92

And always... in comparison, her big brother at FOUR:
Height: 43.5 in (97%)
Weight: 42 lbs, 6 oz (91%)
BMI: 16 (57%)
BP: 102/64
Pulse: 84

So, yeah... there's a HUGE difference in their bodies! Ha!

Anyway, her saying still holds true... "Though she be but little, she is fierce!" This girl might come in a teeny package, but she is BIG on the inside!

No lie, probably one of my top 3 favorite photos of her ever!

Tea Parties, Princesses, and American Girl Dolls (Oh My!)

In typical Squillante Family fashion, we drug out Charley Kate's birthday as much as we possibly could this year!

For months she has been requesting a princess tea party as her birthday party! I looked around Houston and found what turned out to be the perfect little place for a bunch of four year old girls!

The princess wore one of her Elsa princess dresses to the party- complete with a change of clothes underneath for outfit changes (!!). The girls showed up and they got busy picking out the perfect dresses- and they had a TON to choose from! They got to choose all of their accessories and tiaras, too! It was precious! Not only did the big girls have a blast, but little sis Molly was in heaven, too! Who knew she was so girly?!

This was outfit number 1!

 And outfit number 2!

After they posed for some pics they were all treated to painted nails and "fairy dust" (glitter!). They were in heaven!

Dance party while the girls finished!

Then they got ready for the FASHION SHOW! Each little princess was announced and walked out and posed for pictures! The girls were precious!

The girls lined up for their show!

Molly is OBSESSED with cousin Austen!

 These girls were SOOOO cute!

Not everyone felt like participating- and that's ok! This ain't for everyone!

After their show it was time for cupcakes and the "tea" party! They sipped on pink lemonade and iced and decorated their own cupcakes. I think all the girls LOVED this part! Being a princess really makes you work up an appetite! :)

Then it was time for singing Happy Birthday and blowing out candles! CK said this was her favorite part because she loved when everyone cheered for her! Heehee

Next it was more outfit changes and story time and princess bingo and more outfit changes! I would say this was absolutely a little girl's dream party!!

 Outfit number 3!

CK had a blast and said it was the best party ever! She asked if we could do it again next year for her party- so I'd call it a success! We are so thankful for such sweet friends who drove from all over to help her celebrate!

On her actual birthday we headed to Chuck E Cheese. It was the day after Jay's nose surgery, and we had other plans (that's party Part 3 coming up in a sec). But because I wasn't sure how Jay would be doing and didn't feel right leaving him under the care of a sitter, we rearranged the schedule and headed to Chuck E Cheese with some of the cousins and Grandeb. It was perfect for the kids to run around and play!

The birthday girl was VERY tired that day because she woke up at 5:30 that morning because she was SOOOO excited that it was her big day! So she took a birthday nap in my bed after a morning fueled with lots of sugar (donuts for breakfast!) and lots of adrenaline and excitement (Chuck E Cheese!).

We played all afternoon and rode bikes and did what she wanted. Then Daddy came home early and we had her requested meal- tacos and peas (!!) for dinner followed by birthday cupcakes! She opened her family presents and we called it a day!

She love her big brother's present to her!

It was a wonderful day celebrating our sweet little four year old!

The next day we had her birthday celebration at school! Cupcakes and more singing!

And then came Thursday- the surprise celebration! She had no idea what she was going to do- and it was one of her favorite things yet!

Last year sometime our neighbor gave us her old American Girl dolls (score!). Charley is obsessed with baby dolls anyway, and she definitely loves these girls. She recently has been playing with them more and more and asking for their accessories. Their hair was also a MESS- so a few months ago I immediately knew a solution- the AG store at our mall and the hair salon there!

So we loaded up that morning, brought our doll, and met Grandeb there. We went straight to the doll hair salon and got started. CK's eyes were HUUUUUGE the entire time. She walked in and shrieked- it was so sweet and so sincere!

We spent the next HOUR (and believe me, we could have spent MUCH longer!!!) walking around the store looking at every. single. thing. She was in Heaven and it was such a happy moment for me to see her so genuinely happy!

We then headed to our lunch reservations. We had a ladies lunch and CK LOVED having a spot for her baby! By the way, before we left that morning (she knew by this point where we were going) she packed a diaper bag for her girl- complete with diapers, wipes, "snacks," and toys in case she got fussy at lunch! That girl is amazing!

We finished window shopping (and of course purchased some real things!) and headed out to ride those mall ride-on toys before we headed to get the big kids!

All in all, it was a long, drawn-out celebration week for our four year old princess- and we would not have had it any other way! That girl is so amazing and deserves so much more!

We LOVED celebrating you, Charley Kate! You are one special girl! xoxo
