High Five!

Charley is FIVE months old already! Eesh- how has it gone by so fast?!

She is such a fun little thing and is definitely starting to develop a fun little personality! She laughs and smiles and is crazy happy but can scream like it's going out of style! Girlfriend definitely has her preferences and when those aren't met- it's over! I don't know any other of our kids that were like that...  :)

She is...
-Wearing size 2 diapers
-Sitting up like a pro. I actually feel comfortable leaving her without pillows surrounding her for a bit!
-Rolling and turning and scootching (sp?) all around
-Wearing 3 month clothes though they are FINALLY starting to get a little snug!
-Able to (roughly) put her pappy back in her mouth- I started to putting extras in her crib at night to see if she can get them!
-Sleeping in her crib!!
-Grabbing things and putting them directly into her mouth
-Eating oatmeal at least once a day. Nurses every 2.5-3 hours and gets a tiny bottle of leftover formula after her oatmeal. Still taking bottles really well! Time to introduce some other solids methinks...
-Loving table food. Nothing is safe around her! She grabs and reaches for EVERYTHING. Usually at dinner we try to hold her over with a MumMum- but that doesn't last long. So we try to give her pieces of bread or tortillas that she loves to gnaw on
-Sleeping relatively well. Bedtime is at 9:30 every night- until recently if we put her down even thirty minutes before she would be UP! But the last few nights she has skipped that late evening nap and is going down a teeny bit earlier- let's hope that sticks! Otherwise she usually wakes only once to eat in the late morning (5ish- but recently she's gone until 6ish!) and falls back asleep until 745 or so...
-Napping alright. Takes 3-4 a day usually. 3 if she gets a good long afternoon nap- which is most days. I lay down with her after we put Jay down for his nap and usually snag a twenty minute nap. No fail, she starts stirring after 20 minutes. I can typically get her back to sleep- so that next hour plus is GOLD. Now that I've typed this I will jinx it... sigh...
-Still a pretty sweet, go with the flow baby. She definitely has her moments, but for the most part, if she is near momma, she's happy!
-Just starting to have separation anxiety. In the past two weeks she notices when I walk away from her or out of the room. And screams
-Still absolutely hating the car. I would say she scream cries about 65% of the time we are in the car. This is a HUGE improvement from prior months, though!
-A momma's girl for now. We have traumatized our sweet 15 year old babysitter. Girlfriend screams the whole time I'm gone. So we try to stick to grandparents or daddy watching her for now.
-Loving the pool- homegirl loves to splash and kick in the water!
-IN LOVE with her brother. No one makes her happier than him. Every time she sees him he is greeted with smiles and arms out trying to grab him and hold on tight. He is SO SO SO good to her. It's amazing.
-Able to play with lots of different toys. I put her basket of toys in front of her while she sits up and she digs through and plays!
-A fan of her toes in her mouth, being naked, playing in the bathtub, sitting up, rolling over, her pets and her brother, long walks on the beach (I am sure no one is still reading this!), and so much more...
-In the best mood of the day when I go get her out of her crib in the morning. She rolls around and plays on her mat and watches cartoons and is just generally happy. This is the BEST time to get things done around the house for me!

Charley Kate is such a sweet baby girl. I just love her to pieces! I can't wait for our girl time to be more fun as she gets older... What a special gift she's been!
