Prediction Graph

Here is what we did today in class... We are studying graphing and making predictions, so three classes put their predictions on the chart (plus my two nephews came by!)... Each class is color coded and the kids wrote their initials on their sticker!

How cute is this?!? I LOOOOVE my kids! T minus about 15 hours!!!  :)

The Wiggles

So I can officially say I have felt Baby S move!!!!!

I have been feeling this WEIRD feeling once every four or five days for a few weeks... I of course figured it was the baby, but it didn't so much feel like a "flutter" or a "kick" or "popcorn" or whatever other terms have been used to describe it. It just felt like something in my tummy was jumbled around. Like if you look down at your hand and wiggle your fingers... Weird I know (but I bet you're all doing that right now!)...  Anyway, I just wasn't sure if that was the baby or something else.

So today at school I felt that wiggly jiggly jumble feeling 5 times- right in the middle part of my lower belly! I knew without a doubt what it was! Baby S!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this feeling and don't want it stop! I know in a few months when the baby is kicking my ribs and keeping me up I will be singing a different tune, but I LOVE it now!!!!!

I feel it better when I am standing or walking... So now I'm at my computer and feel nothing :(

Just more of an excuse to get up and move around- Baby S loves exercise!  :)

I'm so excited to go into the weekend with this big step- The Wiggles!

Tex is Two!

Happy Happy Birthday to my Sweet Boy, Tex!!!!!!   I can't believe this little darling is already 2! He seems like he has been a part of our lives forever- not just two years! I am SOOOOO glad we found him and he decided to come live with us! It's been an incredible two years with him- and we are looking forward to MANY MANY more!

Here is a little photo montage of our sweet boy over the past two years...

His first day home!

Look at how tiny he was (or look at how HUGE he was at 8 weeks!)

Getting Bigger!

It was amazing that he was EVER smaller than Sunny!

After Surgery...  :(

One of my all-time FAVE pics of him!

One thing that ALWAYS makes me smile-
Walking into a room with a sleeping Tex. He will wake up
and start wagging his tail like crazy!

Loving on his little sister!

Loves to sleep on the bed (he's FINALLY figured out how to jump up!)

Another...

Who could resist waking up to this??

Saying good night... This was last night!

Think we love this guy?? It's hard to believe that we could ever love a baby as much as we love him- guess we're in for a surprise, huh?!  :)

Black Eyed Peas... and Other Ramblings

So Anthony and I saw the Black Eyed Peas at the rodeo last night- by far one of the BEST concerts I have ever seen! Fergie does it RIGHT! I don't know if you've seen a concert at the rodeo, but it's kind of hard to always "get into it" in that type of venue. Spread out, no one is close to the stage... Well, Fergie and the boys did an incredible job. The entire time everyone was up and dancing and singing and screaming- there was no down time at all! They had their amazing back up dancers and Fergie even did an outfit change- it was AWESOME!

On another note- I got my first maternity swimsuit. Yuck.

And finally, how stupid is Jesse James? Really?? Sandra Bullock?! Come ON!

Feeling Amazing

I can see why people say the 2nd trimester is the best one... I feel INCREDIBLE! I have almost all of my energy back (still get tired by the end of the day but it's a million times better!), I am eating regular foods again (goodbye mac and cheese!), everything feels balanced out... it's just wonderful!

I had my 16 week doctor's appointment last Thursday. Everything is looking great- baby's heartbeat is 152 and I'm still not feeling this little one move! My blood pressure was high again (thank you genetics!!!), so we will be watching that over the next few visits. The best part of the last visit was setting up the EXCITING appointment!!! April 1st we are finding out if we are having a boy or girl!! I can't wait! Please don't get your hopes up and check back here for news that day (I know YOU are ALL dying to know! haha)... We will be letting our families know over the weekend, so look for a post that following MONDAY!

Anthony and I had a really fun weekend- we laid low Friday night (and by laying low I mean Anthony was asleep by 8:30 on my parents' couch). Saturday we did housework all day and went to the rodeo with The Robertsons and lots of church friends. It was fun to spend time with everyone and get out of the house for a bit! Sunday night we went to a wedding for one of my old coworkers, Brett. The wedding was beautiful and Brett was a beautiful bride. But it was also SO FUN to get dressed up! I don't remember the last time I put on a dress and heels and got ready! Before we left we took a 16 week bump pic... It's getting bigger!! :)

Can you believe how much it's grown already?!

Today was the first day of Spring Break! I LOOOOVE being a teacher for this reason! I slept in (well, not really. I woke up at 4:30 and just really laid in bed until 8:30- the no sleeping thing is ALREADY starting!?) and then went to get breakfast from one of my favorite places- Einstein Bagels! I took some over to the Hylands (Tex came with me) and we played with the nephews and niece. Owen was in town and the whole fam was going to the livestock today (except me!). After we left Tex and I went to the neighborhood school and got on the track.

One of the things I have loved the most about feeling better this trimester is being able to work out again. I hit the track today with Tex off leash and it was perfect! I jogged and walked and it was a GORGEOUS Texas day. It was hard while I was running not to continuously thank God for the wonders of this world. The bluest sky you can imagine, 66 degrees, beautiful green grass, a precious dog, and a body that not only works while running but also growing it's own little miracle! How much better can you get?!

Top off the day with lunch with old friends and it was a perfect start to a fabulous Spring Break (well, except the 4:30 thing!)...

Inconclusive!

Most of you know how BADLY I want to find out the sex of our sweet baby. This is mostly due to the fact that I can't really start looking at bedding and cute nursery designs until I know this (don't worry- I have some ideas saved up for EITHER!)... But I also want to give this baby a name and start figuring out it's little personality- plus, I'm ready to stop calling it IT. :)

I checked the Chinese Gender Prediction Calendar. There are 4 completely different ones that I have found... You can see one here if you have no clue what I'm talking about, and here is another one. Well, go figure that two came back as GIRL and two came back as BOY! I mean, are you kidding me?!?! How inconclusive is that?! It actually makes me laugh a LOT!

So then, I've been having some major BOY feelings... Every time I picture the baby in my arms or as a child or even as a grown up, it's been a boy... UNTIL... I had a dream the other night. In my dream, I delivered a beautiful little GIRL! Now I'm having girl feelings and picturing a little girl! Ack! You might not think this means a lot because it was a dream, EXCEPT for the fact that I am 4 for 4 on baby prediction dreams. I had a dream that Courtney was having a boy before she knew, and we now have sweet Jack! My sister Jennifer was pregnant and in my dream she was having a girl (yes, she ended up with Jill!). I had a dream that Christina was having a boy before she knew and now we call him Davis! Then, my girlfriend Michelle was pregnant and in my dream she had a girl- and yes, Riley is a beautiful little girl! So, as you can see, my dreams are pretty SPOT ON. Alas, my "feelings" are totally inconclusive... Story of this pregnancy apparently! :)

So listening to my ramblings, my mom bought an IntelliGender Kit from Target. You are supposed to, ahem, pee in a cup, then mix it with some crystals and swirl it around for ten seconds. After 10 minutes you check it and if the liquid and crystals turned GREEN it's a boy and YELLOW it's a girl! I thought this was a fun idea, but I assured my mom that no matter what I was NOT painting my nursery with the results of this kit! So she came over Monday night to do the test... AHHHH- you have to take your FIRST urine of the day (it says this very big and bold in the directions). So, Tuesday morning, Mom comes on over at 7 before I leave for work. Anthony, Mom, and I are all waiting for the results. We all walk in and out of the bathroom a couple of times until I cut it off and say no one is allowed to look until 10 minutes exactly!

We all crowd into the bathroom and what do we find?!?!!? DRUMROLL PLEASE......

INCONCLUSIVE!!!!!!!!!  The bottom of the liquid is GREEN and I SWEAR TO YOU the top of the liquid is YELLOW! WHAT?!?!?!?!?!!?

This is what we did with the test after those FABULOUS results....

The kit is in our trash with the dog poop and dead plants from the winter if you can't tell!

It was actually funny and now I'm convinced that when we go to our "Find Out the Sex" appointment, our baby's legs will be crossed or something ridiculous!

I am thinking that this is God's way of telling me to RELAX and just enjoy the stage I am at with this baby. There are still so many exciting things going on with IT, and I need to enjoy them for what they are! I know this pregnancy will be over before I know it, and I will be out of the comfortable pregnancy stage where I can still run and see my toes! So I'm taking a deep breath and enjoying each minute (maybe a TEENY bit still curious) while I can.

100th Post!

Wow... This is my 100th post!!!!!!! I feel like I should be celebrating- what a milestone! In fact, here are some balloons for the party!  :)

The thing that makes me happy about this being my 100th post is the fact that it hasn't even been a year since I've had the blog (in fact it's bee just over 10 months!). On average, that means I am posting about twice a week, which is totally sufficient in my opinion! Yay me!

Thank you to my loyal readers (ok, now I'm just being dumb)... But seriously, I have LOVED keeping this public journal of the last 10 months of our lives- and boy how things have changed! I started the first post on my 27th birthday... Since then we've celebrated our 2 Year Anniversary... both of us have changed jobs (and we love them!)... we've traveled to The Bahamas, California, Alabama, and Iowa... we have gone from a couple and a dog to a couple with a dog and cat and expecting a baby... my oh my how we've been blessed! I would be totally out of line if I didn't give God the glory for this wonderful journey!

Thanks for reading and watch for more posts soon! :)

Waiting...

I feel like all I have been doing is waiting lately...

At our 12 Week appointment we had an ultrasound, some big tests done, and got to hear our sweet baby's heartbeat. Talk about a big appointment! This was also telling us we were pretty much "in the clear" danger-wise of that "dreaded" first trimester.

13ish Weeks is when my belly popped out...

Now I just feel like I'm waiting! We have an appointment this Thursday- my 16 week appointment. Unfortunately, nothing cool happens at this appointment- meaning no ultrasound to see our baby!

Now, I'm just waiting to feel those little flutters in my tummy (I want to feel them so badly!!!)... And we're waiting ever-so-patiently (yeah right!) to find out the sex of this little one! We won't get to know for about 4 more weeks! Ack!!!!

We are trying to be patient, but in the meantime, life is just going on like normal- daily routines, enjoying Tex and Ella, visiting friends and family... Which I have to say- we are very BLESSED. We could be going through some super tough times like some other friends of ours, but instead, we are just living a normal, waiting life... And that's ok with us.  :)

What a Weekend!

Disclaimer- I wrote this email yesterday with the intention of going home and uploading my pictures (I left the cord at home). Unfortunately, I took a two hour nap and didn't get around to it. So here I am, on TUESDAY, finally posting... oops! :)

We were so busy this weekend! Ever since becoming pregnant, I have used my weekends to catch up on MUCH needed rest. Unfortunately, this weekend that was NOT an option- BUT fortunately, we had LOTS of good stuff planned!

Thursday night we planned to go to the Rodeo Cook-Off with the other jillion Houstonians that were out there. However, due to the impending vomit that sits in the back of my throat when I smell BBQ, we thought this was a year to SKIP out. It makes me so sad. Those who know me well know that Rodeo time in Houston is one of my VERY favorite times of year (close behind Christmas, my birthday, and summer vacation!). I was SO bummed to miss out on the fun- but the smell and close-talking of those who had too much to drink make me sick just thinking about it!

Friday night we finally cashed in on my Dad's birthday present- taking him to his FIRST Rockets game at Toyota Center. He had never been (crazy!) and neither had my mom. So for his birthday, the Hylands and the Squillantes gave Dad tickets to the game vs. the Spurs. It originally was going to be Dad and Anthony until a client of Anthony's gave us FOUR tickets! Jennifer and Justin weren't interested, so Anthony and I took Mom and Dad to their first game at Toyota Center! This would have been fun anyway, but add to the fact that we had third row ON THE COURT tickets, and it made it EVEN BETTER! We were up close and personal with the giants and it was SUPER fun to spend time with Mom and Dad! The game was great because we crushed the Spurs (my second fave NBA team)- oh, AND we stopped at Marble Slab on the way home for my prego belly! :)

By our seats- too bad Dad's eyes are closed!

Saturday I ran errands like crazy- I shopped until I alsmost dropped for maternity clothes. Unfortunately none of the cute maternity shops in Houston are that close to me, so I drove all over tarnation to find some pants that fit! And I did! :)

Saturday night we went to Azuma Downtown for a YUMMY dinner to celebrate my sweet friend Lindsie's birthday! I LOOOVE that place and order the Hot Rock EVERY time I go! YUM! Well, unfortunately, that was NOT enough food for Baby S, so I ordered the udon (yummy thick Japanese noodles) and it hit the spot perfectly. Are you asking if I had two dinners? Yes, yes I did thankyouverymuch! And it was delicious! It was so good to see Linds- I miss seeing her everyday!

Spence and Lindsie!

Sunday we had church as usual and then had lunch at my parents' with MeeMaw. It was fun to visit with her- and it's good to see her out and about! I helped throw a baby shower for a sweet friend from church in the afternoon. Then, I met up with the Hylands, my mom, and Anthony at Chuy's for a yummy Sunday night dinner! After the dinner, my mom and I went to my cousin Nick's show to his group perform! It was SO FUN! Nick is SUCH a talented rapper (with clean, good lyrics!) and it was SO MUCH fun to see him in his "mode."

The Fam at the show!

Needless to say this Monday afternoon I am PAYING the price for such a fun, busy weekend! Seriously, Anthony and I usually plan ONE thing over the whole weekend so that I can rest some. We usually spend the rest of it lounging at my parents or at our house. This weekend was a nice change- now for my nap!  :)
